I have tried editing on paper, but I didn't like it. One of the things that's cool about Scrivener is that you can take a "snapshot" of your work, which essentially saves a copy of it before you make edits. you can go back to prior edits or look at prior edits or have them side by side as you look at them. whatever works. It also breaks things down by scene/chapter or however you want it. I like that because if i have a huge stack of paper in front of me i'd rather crawl under a pile of blankets and hide than work on it.
thanks about the research thing. yeah, I was so nervous. It's encouraging how well it went. Now I won't be so afraid to contact anyone else if i need to. :)
